Tom Polacheck
Tom Polacheck is an artist/photographer residing in Woodbridge, Tasmania. He is interested in how the perspective provided by the camera enhances and challenges conceptions of reality and our place within it (both personally and as a species). His interest and love of photography stem from his early childhood when he first experienced the magical power of a simple box camera and a primitive basement darkroom. He developed a passion for aerial photography after encountering the incredible works of Paul Hoelen and participating in one of his hands-on workshops flying over Kati-Thanda Lake Eyre. In addition to photography, he is an avid sailor and a retired research ecologist and fisheries biologist.
